Service Learning
Students will participate in various sustainability projects within the community. The service is primarily working on Organic Coffee farms in rural mountain settings. In order to understand the significance of their work, students will discuss, analyze, and interpret the most important issues by being involved in group discussions and keeping a field journal during their time in Costa Rica. Additional types of service students may carry out based on the needs of the community are; construction of eco-bricks, sidewalks, roads, school and building refurbishment.
Topics for Group Discussion will cover: Sustainable Development, Water Conservation, Responsible Tourism, Consumption, Organic Farming and Climate Change.
