Health and Emergency Contact Information Green Communities Volunteers will take every precaution to ensure the good health and safety of its volunteers while on this trip. However, there are always unavoidable health risks when traveling in Central America. For this reason, we ask that each volunteer assess his/her own health condition and takes the necessary health precautions before and during the trip. Volunteers should be able to walk reasonable distances and endure changes in altitude and temperature extremes. Additionally, the sanitation conditions in Costa Rica will not be on par with what you may be used to in the United States. Please mentally prepare yourself for spending 1-3 weeks in a developing country, without many of the amenities you have grown used to at home. We highly recommend that you get all necessary vaccinations before traveling, and that you avoid eating or drinking food of which you do not know the source. We will carry large amounts of bottled water with us, and we encourage you ONLY to drink this water. It is important that everyone be cautious with what they consume while in Costa Rica. Finally, while Costa Rica is considered a peaceful country, crime does occur. You must be alert and travel in groups at all times. Please avoid ever wondering off on your own at any time. Your safety is our number one concern.

I, the undersigned, acknowledge and confirm that I am in good health and have taken the necessary health precautions before participating in this Green Communities trip.*
